The Sensory Universe exhibition is designed to send blessings to the whole person heading toward the end of the pandemic and to meta-recognize our limited "body."
Existentialist philosopher Maurice Merlean-Ponty said that the reason art affects our senses, cognition, and worldview is because it relates to our bodies. Sensibility and cognition are not obtained by metaphysical ideas in the head, but are formed when the outside world is recognized through the 'physical consciousness' called the 'body', which is an external sensory receptor, and communication begins only when the 'body' "experience" the 'phenomena' surrounding the 'object (or work of art)."
This exhibition begins with the premise that all the experiences that "body" remembers can be revived beyond time and space within the current experience through objects, and when experiences with others overlap and expand subjectively, it is possible to establish a relationship with true art. To this end, we hope that individual experiences will be freely expanded within works of art by inducing individual immersion through the work of three teams (Jeong Jin-kyung, Arisson, Studio 1750) that embody the play of direct experiences of "body" and "action." We look forward to reaching a meaningful exhibition that evokes human values to us, who have forgotten the old way of communication, and to the younger generation.
